Do you always seem to have excessive sweating armpits? When you’re with others, are you afraid that you might be grossing them out? Here are some tips for dealing with excessive sweating armpits:
- Cut out the caffeine. Coffee in particular should be eliminated from your diet. It’s filled with caffeine, sugar, and stimulants. The body considers these to be “pollutants”, and gets rid of them through sweat! Also, since coffee is hot, it’ll cause your body temperature to go up, resulting in more sweat.
- Give up spicy foods! If you eat a lot of spicy foods, it’s no wonder why you’re sweating so much! These stimulate the sympathetic nervous system, which reacts by sending signals to the sweat glands.
- Drink tons of water, every single day. Drinking more water will cause you to sweat LESS. It’ll cool down your body temperature, and clean out the pollutants. This means you might have to go to the bathroom more – but at least you won’t sweat as much!
- Use a very strong antiperspirant with at least 10% aluminum chloride. Some good brands include Certain Dri, Maxim, and Drysol. These are the strongest antiperspirants available over the counter.
- Keep your armpits clean 24/7. Wash them at least twice a day, and carry around antiperspirant wipes wherever you go. Keep the hair under your arms shaved to prevent bacteria from forming. When there is a buildup of bacteria in the hair, the sweating AND odor problems are worsened.
- Whatever you do, DO NOT WEAR SYNTHETIC FABRICS! Polyester in particular is a no-no if you want to prevent sweating. Some materials trigger sweat more so than others. You need to stick to natural materials and looser clothing. Only wear shirts that are made out of 70% or more cotton or wool.
- The best thing you can do to prevent excessive sweating armpits is to be in good health. If you live an unhealthy lifestyle and don’t eat a very good diet, you will sweat a lot more. Start working out and eating only healthy foods. If you’re overweight, try losing some.
