You may know by now that I highly recommend you try natural methods to relieve hyperhidrosis BEFORE going to such extremes as Botox or ETS. However, if your excessive sweating is so EXTREME you think you have no other options, Endoscopic Thoracic Surgery may be a last resort.
Below is a video that shows you part of an ETS surgery so you know what you’re in for. You can see by the video that this procedure is NOT reversible. The surgeons actually burn the nerve connectors here in the sympathetic chain of the chest cavity.
Once you commit to this, there’s no going back. If you get compensatory sweating as a result, you’re pretty much stuck with it.
That’s why I’m such an advocate of the Stop Sweating & Start Living program. It gives you a chance to end the excessive sweating WITHOUT going to such wild measures as ETS. Check it out here and end your excessive sweating without the risk of irreversible surgery.

I have considered it. I’ve tried just about everything. The last was Botox, spent hundreds of dollars, no lasting results. Two weeks at the most. Maybe one day I’ll find my miracle cure. Perhaps you will be the one to help me find it. Thanks so much. I really look forward to getting your emails.
Sincerely,
James
i recently had VASER for axilliary HH, it’s been a week now and it’s working gr8, my hands n feet r still sweating but my axilla remains dry.
VASER uses ultrasound liposuction procedure which is used for HH sufferer to destroy the sweat glands permanently. u can see d video i found in youtube that prompt me to avail of this treatment; the link is in tumblr blog i made to compile helpful information to manage HH. this site inspired me to start this blog and help other HH sufferers like myself.
IMHO, the VASER procedure is expensive but well worth the money. good thing i live in the Philippines and it is less expensive here.
if hope this post is helpful & pls leave me a messge on my blog and share other helpful links for me to compile.
tyvm to Jason Ellis for this helpful website, keep up the good work!
I had ETS surgery in February of 2009; I had the procedure for severe facial/cranial and armpit sweating. I had the T-2 and T-3 nerves cut bilaterally. As of this message, I have severe compensatory sweating that has dramatically impacted my life negatively. If you are considering this procedure, please be aware that there is a 50% chance that you could suffer from compensatory sweating, which is your body’s attempt to cool itself when the thoracic nerves are cut, cauterized or clamped. You see, when these nerves are cut, the sweat response is cut off or dramatically inhibited to those areas the nerves addressed. When this happens, the body has to sweat more aggressively in the body’s other areas to sustain an effecient operating temperature. This is sweating that will drench your clothes and make your life miserable. Please understand, that this procedure is irreversible, and can make your life worse off than you are now. I am including a link to ETS patients who are dealing with this and other side effects so that you can make an informed decision.

If you live in a humid area, have a propensity to sweat excessively already, or are on medications to treat high blood pressure and other health issues, then this surgery could further complicate your quality of life. Again, this is an irreversible procedure.
