Facial Sweating and Blushing

At the height of my facial hyperhidrosis symptoms, I would have beads of sweat rolling down my face while I was sitting at my desk. I couldn't bear to look people in the eye out of embarrassment of the condition. It was bad.

There were days where the perspiration would get so severe that it would drip onto my shirt. It was the elephant in the room whenever I'd hang out with friends or talk to co-workers. Everyone was too polite to address my facial sweating, but obviously they noticed. How could anyone not notice?

My dermatologist said I had three routes to go. I could try Botox solutions but that was way too expensive and I couldn't bear the thought of botox side-effects in my face. I tried presciption deodorants on my face, but it soon disagreed with my skin and I would breakout in hives. My next option was finding a nice natural remedy. That was the keeper.

When I discuss hyperhidrosis cures with people, they often add on facial sweating and blushing as an afterthought. I often hear "I have sweaty palms and feet. Oh, and my face sweats sometimes when I get nervous. I can turn the deepest shades of red".

Have no doubts that facial sweating and blushing is in direct correlation to hyperhidrosis. But the onset of this symptom is usually reactionary. I've heard scenarios where someone with hyperhidrosis will shake hands with another person and then immediately experience the facial symptoms as a reaction to their embarrassment.

Facial hyperhidrosis tends to be secondary. It comes on as a chain reaction to other symptoms. Where as palmer or foot sweating generally occurs spontaneously for no reason.

Some believe that by curing the ancillary hyperhidrosis symptoms, facial sweating goes away as well. From my experience, that did the trick for me.

However, each facial hyperhidrosis condition is different. And not all solutions work the same.

People who solely experience facial sweating (without other sweating body parts) have a harder time with surgical solutions to hyperhidrosis. This is because they tend to have a higher percentage of compensatory sweating after the sympathectomy surgery.

Using deodorants on one's face is not exactly a practical solution to the problem. Aside from the asthetic obstacles that this can bring, if the person is using a prescription product like Drysol, they have a high probability of breaking out in a rash as a result. This was my problem as I mentioned earlier.
